The Catholic parish of Saint-Ambroise, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, has decided to transform a former nun-run home into a "coliving" facility. A private company is now renting out rooms, enhanced with services and shared areas, at higher prices.
Just a few months ago, around sixty students of twenty different nationalities were staying here. The Notre-Dame de Pentecôte residence, on rue René-Villermé in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, closed its doors for good in the summer of 2024. The Spanish Missionary Crusader Sisters of the Church, who had run the residence for around fifty years, have mostly returned to Spain, making way for a co-living company, La Casa, which will open its doors in July.
